The Artist
Beverly Madley BA Hons Visual Art

I live in the West Highlands where I am inspired by the scenery, flora and fauna. I have long had a passion for animal portraits. They are in our homes, farms, and countryside, and a temptation to paint. I work in acrylic on canvas, seeking to capture the wonderful subject matter - all that expression, glistening eyes, whiskers and fur. The use of light, a wide palette of subtle colours, along with plenty of spatter to evoke movement allows the individual characters to come to life. They delight the viewer and the artist, filling the canvas with their presence.
